At GV Summer Camp, our English language course is meticulously designed to cater to students of all proficiency levels, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience. Our dynamic curriculum encompasses grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
Experienced teachers employ interactive discussions, role-playing, and group projects to create engaging lessons that encourage active participation and foster language acquisition. Through practical applications and real-life scenarios, students develop the confidence and communication skills necessary for success in English.
Prior to arrival, students’ English proficiency levels are assessed through our comprehensive online placement test. This 45-minute test includes multiple-choice questions and a writing section, ensuring accurate placement in classes tailored to both their assessed level and age.
Welcome to GV Summer Camp, located within a spacious and inviting local secondary school in the residential area of Tal-Virtu’ in Rabat, just a short 20-minute walk from Mdina, the historic medieval capital city of Malta. Our strategic location provides easy access to cultural landmarks and enriching experiences, enhancing the overall camp adventure for our students.

Additionally, our camp boasts scenic outdoor spaces, including a lush green lawn area for relaxation and socializing, and a natural wooded area offering breathtaking views of Verdala Castle.
For the convenience of our students, we provide a shuttle service between our main school in St. Paul’s Bay and the summer camp for attendees of our Language Camp or Day Camp programs. This service eliminates transportation concerns, allowing students to focus on enjoying their camp experience to the fullest.

For those seeking relaxation and adventure, boat trips and swimming excursions to St. Peter’s Pool provide a perfect combination of scenic beauty and aquatic fun. Cultural enthusiasts can delve into Malta’s rich history with a guided Valletta Tour, while shopaholics can indulge in retail therapy during shopping excursions in Sliema. We take great care in providing students with a well-balanced diet, consisting of delicious breakfasts, hot lunches, and satisfying dinners, all prepared and served on campus. Occasionally, we organize outdoor barbeques or picnics, allowing students to relish the Mediterranean Summer’s ambiance. We happily cater to vegetarian and special dietary requirements, provided such information is shared during the booking process.

Yes, our staff hail from all over the world but are required to exclusively speak English with each other and students. The goal of the camp is to learn English in a fun environment. Therefore, we encourage all students to speak English at all times. However, in case of urgent or important matters, we may speak to the student in their native language.
Yes, Residential Campers have time to rest and freshen up after the afternoon activity until dinner, and after the evening activity until 23:00, when all campers go to sleep. Unsupervised free time (at pre-determined dedicated times) is permitted for students who are 15 years and older, with parental consent and if approved by a GV staff member. The curfew is strictly at 22:00. GV Camp staff will explain the free time procedure during orientation. Campers are not permitted to leave the camp unaccompanied without written approval by GV Staff & parental consent. GV Malta reserves the right to change or cancel the free evening without prior notice.
The premises are not accessible to the general public, and students cannot unlock the front gate without permission from GV staff. Within the camp, students are informed about restricted areas during the welcome meeting. During lessons, they are supervised by teachers, and throughout the rest of the day, they are supervised by the team leaders.
The washing machine is coin operated, and the fees are:
Students may purchase the laundry detergent capsule for € 1.00 from GV Camp staff. They can ask a GV staff member to help if they require assistance to operate the washing machine, but students are responsible for the hanging and swift retrieval of their dry laundry. GV Malta will not be held responsible for the student’s laundry in any regard.
We do our best to allocate students of different nationalities and similar ages together. Males and females are not permitted to share a bedroom and are also not permitted to enter each other’s rooms. If a student really wants to change rooms, they can ask a GV staff member who will assess the possibility and try to accommodate the request.
The typical school-week at the camp starts with the shuttle for the Day and Language campers leaving St. Paul’s Bay at 8:15. During this time, the Residential campers have breakfast. All campers have classes from 09:15 to 12:30. After that, the Language campers return to their parents with the shuttle. Day and Residential campers have lunch and activities/excursions that finish at 17:30. Then, the Day campers return to their parents while Residential campers have free time until the evening activities and bedtime. On weekends, Residential campers have excursions and activities throughout the day.
For Residential campers, we arrange taxi transfers from the airport to the camp on arrival and back to the airport at departure.
For Day campers and Language campers, there is a shuttle service from the main school in St Paul’s Bay every morning at 8:15 to transport them to the GV camp. At 12:30 the Language campers return to St Paul’s Bay, and at 17:30 the Day campers return to St. Paul’s Bay at approximately 17:30.
Where applicable, we arrange transportation to and from excursion venues.
For all excursions and outdoor activities, there is a bus waiting outside the camp to transport us to the destination and back to the camp at the end.
No, it is illegal to purchase cigarettes and other tobacco products under the age of 18 in Malta, and the GV camp does not permit students to smoke, vape, or drink alcohol inside or outside the camp premises.
If students are found smoking or drinking, there will be a meeting with the GV staff to discuss the consequences of these actions.
