TELT Preparation Course

TELT (Test for English Language Teachers) Preparation Course covers all areas of the TELT Exam and will prepare trainee teachers to sit for the ELT Councilexam.

TELT is an English language qualification, an equivalent of A-level in English, necessary when applying for an ELT Teaching Permit in Malta when the participant does not have an A-level in English. This course will cover the TELT syllabus, focussing on grammar, lexis, word and sentence transformation, pronunciation, essay writing and speaking fluency.

The course includes topics such as:
  • Language description, sensitivity and awareness
  • Language proficiency
The course will be conducted by Paul Thomson - TEFL, TELT and CELTA qualified, has been a successful English Teacher for over 7 years, teaching foreign students from all around the world in Malta and Switzerland. Completed a ‘train the trainer’ course with Alan Marsh in 2014. Currently a language instructor at GV Malta. 
The main requirements are that the course applicants have a good standard of English – candidates will be required to sit for, and pass, a pre-course language awareness test.
 
Course length: 30 hours
Course dates: 4th – 29th September AND 6th & 9 th November 2017
Course schedule:  Mondays and Thursdays
 
Course times: 17:00 – 20:30 OR*18:00 till 21:30 - including a 30 min break
*depending on the applicants’ preferences
Course fee: €180.00

Minimum number of trainees in class: 5
 
A separate fee of €46.50 for the TELT exam should be paid directly to the ELT Council. The TELT exam (written part) will be held on the 11th November 2017, that is why we are organising 2 revision sessions just before the exam. The oral sessions SEPTT will be held in later and you will have to register for it separately.
